Our little Curious George

After watching Curious George one day I realized that Kyle is just our little Curious George.  He doesn't mean to make giant messes on purpose they are just a side effect of his discovery!

Over the last week I have been riding around in my car with a can of Sprite that I indended to include with lunch one day at work.  However, I forgot to take it into work so it just kept riding in the car exposed to heat and cold over and over.  A little word of warning to anyone who does not know...exposing cans of pop to extreme temp fluctuations builds up the pressure inside of the can. Anyway, we were waiting in the car for Andi's soccer practice to finish and Kyle was screaming so I let him out of his seat.  Of course he goes for the can of pop, but I don't see in time.  I turn around just in time to see the pop drop on the floor, exlpode, and shoot pop like a high pressure hose all over the car!  AAAAHHHHHHHHHH.  Again Kyle was crying.  I grabbed al the napkins I could and began wiping, but it felt hopeless.  There was sprite dripping EVERYWHERE!  I gave up.

Skip ahead to Saturday.

I put Kyle down for a nap, grabbed all my cleaning tools including a carpet cleaner and began detailing the van. Almost 3 (painful) hours later I was still not done but Kyle was up from his nap.  I got him out from his crib, and set him in front of the TV, and asked Nick to keep an eye on him for 5 minutes.  I only had a little to finish.  Five minutes later I came back in to him "washing" his hands with yogurt he had gotten from the fridge.  He had also used a spare spoon he found on the table, and climbed up into his chair himself.

I am just happy I didn't yell at him!

That is our little curious george.

Sisterly Visit

For spring break Becky suprised us with a visit with her boys.  We had an awesome time and were so busy I apparently only took two pictures :(.  We did everything from going to the park, to the zoo, weeding Sue's yard, watched movies, played the wii, had an easter egg hunt, and easter dinner.  There was much more but it now all seems a blur!

This was one of my favorite moments.  I came outside and found grandma (their great grandma), kneeling with the kids in the dirt,  and playing cars.  She really is amazing!  Really does anyone know any other great grandma that does this?  I certainly don't!

Friday (Easter Egg hunt day) we woke up to 3 inches of snow.  Well the kids (yes my brothers led the way and are included as kids) wasted no time making the best of it!  There were snowballs flying everwhere.  I am pretty sure this was my kids first official snow ball fight and of course my brothers taught them all about it.
Really my brothers are the best examples in the world as demonstrated in the following video.

Man life would be boring without them!

We sure loved the visit from Becky and hope there are more coming soon!

"Ready Watch"

This is our favorite "Game" to play after FHE.  The kids just love to run and jump and Kyle is finally old enough to join in!

Fun stuff

Our days are made up of a lot of moments and these are a few of the interesting ones in the month of March. We will start with Kyle eating chocolate pudding.  Amazingly it stayed mostly on his face!

We have had a very windy March so we were able to fly kites several times.  Andrea is getting some skills!
Mike would not miss this opportunity to pass his love of kites onto Kyle.
He did quite well I would say and it didn't even pull him off the ground.
Usually St. Patrick's day falls on a week day when the kids are at daycare so I don't have to worry about it.  Well this year of course it was on a day we were at home.  The kids immediately woke up and told me we had to build traps.  I had no idea what they were talking about but I went along with it.  This is what they made.  They found a box and colored it.  They also filled it with fun things they thought a girl or boy leprechaun would like.  Please take note of the little Lucky Charms Marshmellows in the corner. We left the boxes alone for a while to see what they would catch.
In the meantime I had to call my daycare provider for guidance.  (I have never caught a leprechaun before.) Amazingly the traps fell on the boxes.  We all came running in to inspect and this is the leprechaun we caught!  It worked! Unfortunately the only nuggets this one had we did not want ;)!
The kids informed me that I was not very good and they would have better luck at daycare next year...I agree!

Airplanes

For years Mike has been saying we should go to the hill airforce base museum, and for years I have been saying "someday." Well I finally consented and we went, and it was waaaaayyyy cooler then I thought it would be!

The kids loved being next to these huge planes. It gave us a great chance to talk to them about the different world wars and what the people in my grandpa's generation sacrificed for us. They soaked it all in. Nick was especially receptive. I will admit though that Kyle was more interested in getting out of the stroller.

I couldn't help myself, I had to take a ton of pictures. One day I will mount them on the walls of Mike's future hobby room. That is if he ever finds time for his hobbies again...

The kids love touching the planes.

Sorry my pics from inside the museum did not turn out as well, but there were old air planes everywhere along with a lot of the military stuff from that time. It was like taking a step back in time, Mike was in heaven!

The kids favorite part of all was the Discovery Center they had there. There were cockpits to sit in, flight suits and helmats they could dress in, an air chamber with a model airplane in it that showed how airplanes fly and several other things.

We had a great time! Definately worth the time and money...btw it was free!!!

Valentines

Valentines has always been a special holiday for me (mainly because it is my mom's B-day!) For Christmas I got a fondue pot so we decided to put it to good use on Valentines and do chocolate fondue. It was super YUMMY!

The kids especially loved it! What could be better then dipping everything you can find into chocolate and eating it...I mean really!

We dipped Strawberries, Cream Puffs, cookies, pretzels and eventually fingers and faces (Kyle) into our chocolate fondue. This will definately be a new tradition!

Yummy!

FHE-Catching Butterflies

For our family activity on FHE one night we pulled out our Elephant game. It has been years since we used it due to the batteries it requires. Anyway, as you will see in the video this is the first time we have played it in a while and he thought it was pretty great. The screaming is the dead give away!

After playing the game for a while Kyle invented his own "victory dance." Mike and I had quite a good laugh that night!

Happy B-Day Andi!

It's official...she is seven! We can't believe she has been in our lives already for seven years. Where has the time gone? We adore Andi and love the young woman (yes I said that right) she is becoming.

For her b-day she was thrilled to get her own blow dryer. BTW the glasses are fashion only. (Yet another sign she is growing up.)
Try not to be jealous of my craftiness with these beautiful cupcakes.! Some people are just born with it (I am definately not!) Andi wanted Rapunzel decorated cupcakes so this is what she got.

Kyle and my cousin at the table shooting each other with sound effects and everything.
After cupcakes we went bowling. The kids had a great time. Next time I will be using the ramp and bumpers. Then maybe I could actually beat my kids!
We would not have been able to go without a TON of help! Thanks to everyone that came and helped keep Kyle contained. Aunt Sue did a great job showing Andi how to play.
Great form Aunt Sue!!!
He moved so fast the camera could barely get his picture.

Kyle had to check out the lockers. He even got in a couple of them.
Andi also got these printable hair extensions. You design them on a website and then just run the blank extensions through your printer and it prints on your design. Andi loved them and spent hours designing them.

Note to self...keep the noise makers away from grandpa next time. I think he had a little too much fun!

Other fun from our party.

Happy Birthday Andi! We love you!

Ready Go!

Kyle LOVES to race and run. If you say "Ready Go," almost every time Kyle will stop what he is doing and run to a door or some stopping point. I'll admit it is my go-to when he starts to throw a tantrum. My favorite thing is the way he tucks his head in when he runs. I think it is too big and it bobbles when he runs otherwise.

Kyle also loves dancing/spinning!

Friends

Winter time here means COLD! And this year was extra rough because it was cold with no snow so the kids had nothing to do. We decided to let them invite some friends for a craft day. Nick and his friend Cameron painted model airplanes. Cameron is quite the character!

Andi has a couple of friends she pals around with. The middle one is her closest friend though. Infact she is the reason Andi likes to wear fashion glasses!

Kyle eating the sucker I bribed him with to stay out of the painting.
